Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

What is ART?

In ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), we say “keep the knowledge, but lose the pain,” because you will keep the facts about what happened to you, but the associated painful emotions, images, and sensations associated with the event will no longer be felt. ART is a peer-reviewed, evidence-based treatment for psychological trauma. Using unique visualization techniques and how the body is affected by distressing images or memories, ART facilitates rapid eye movements similar to eye movements during dreaming. This intervention reprograms distressing images and memories (which have been stored in your brain) to no longer trigger strong physical and emotional reactions. I was trained by Colleen Clark in the Basic ART Protocol in October of 2020, and I greatly appreciate ART’s profound changes in my clients and its effectiveness in healing through trauma.

ART provides rapid recovery (1-5 sessions) from acute trauma and can help facilitate healing in other mental health challenges including (but not limited to):

  • anxiety

  • depression

  • motor vehicle accident trauma

  • nightmares

  • post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • addictions

  • performance anxiety

  • poor self image

  • sexual abuse

  • domestic abuse / domestic violence

  • relationship issues

  • codependency

  • complicated/disenfranchised grief

  • job-related stress

  • miscarriage

  • birth trauma
